My favorite quote of all time: “In the hopes of reaching the moon, men fail to see the flowers that blossom at their feet.” It can be applied to so many things in life; a simple quote that in itself lies a lifetime of knowledge. It even applies to our beloved American Bullies! For example, in man’s efforts to create the ultimate “super freak” bully, they have failed to notice what was already laid out in front of them, the ORIGINAL AMERICAN BULLY. A breed that, in itself, is already beautiful and needs no other “contributions” from other breeds. It doesn’t need a fancy name, it’s AMERICAN made. It doesn’t need a one inch muzzle. It doesn’t need to be small enough to fit into your pocket. And it definitely doesn’t need to be used and abused in order to earn a profit. There will never be another breed like it and it is perfect the way it was made. “Bettering the breed” is a term used too often by breeders and, if not used in the right way, can ruin it. The breed is what it is and the foundation for what the bully is, structurally, has already been laid. Now, the only way we can better the breed is by promoting it in the most positive light possible. Keep it positive and ALWAYS…KEEP IT BULLY!
